North American Rugby League Launches...The time is NOW!

Our new North American professional rugby league competition launches today called North American Rugby League.  NARL will be an 8-team competition that will play its first round of games the weekend of June 19 in Brooklyn, NY.
Teams from the Eastern United States and Canada will compete during the first season.  U.S.-based Atlanta Rhinos, Boston Thirteens, Brooklyn Kings, Cleveland Rugby League, New York Rugby League and Washington Cavalry will each play 10 games this first season. Due to the pandemic, the two Canadian teams–Toronto Wolfpack and Ottawa Aces–will play in a separate Canada Cup competition this year, then join the full league for the 2022 season.
All games will be broadcast on NARL’s exclusive online streaming partner, SportsFlick. Due to COVID-19 regulations, the US teams will play all games at a single venue each week with no fans. This festival style approach will continue through the first season. In 2022, teams will travel to their opponents’ venues with cheering fans in the stands.
“I’m delighted to introduce North American Rugby League to rugby league fans around the world,” said NARL Chief Operation Officer Robert Curtis. “We firmly believe this is the next big evolutionary step for Rugby League.”
“The NARL is the culmination of years of research and market testing, and is designed to bring fans the hardest hitting, fastest and most exciting sport on the planet,” added Mr. Curtis. “We see NARL as an addition to the existing rugby league structures in the US, and certainly don’t see ourselves as a rival or rebel league. Our goal is to grow the magnificent sport of rugby league in North America and create a legacy for generations to come.”
